Building the Future - A wonderful opportunity
I am delighted to be Frensham's Parish Priest at this exciting time in the church's development. With your support we can provide a building that not only meets the current needs of the church, but also allows us to reach out into our community, to serve them better, and offer facilities to enable the church to be truly at the centre of village life. The new hall will provide a resource for the whole village and we are excited by the opportunity this gives us to grow and flourish... to the Glory of God.

How you can be a part of this exciting project
Message from the Bishop of Guildford
The New Extension - Why, what, how
Why?
We can be grateful to previous generations for gradually evolving the building of St Mary’s to meet the needs of successive generations since 1239! It is now, however, close to 100 years since the last major additions of the vestry extension and Church Hall and they now fail to meet the present needs for the church and community.
What?
The exciting plans drawn up by experienced local architect, Ian Adam-Smith, will enable us to renew the facilities and offer space, toilets and catering for a wide range of uses, including the Sunday School, Pilates group, Mother & Toddler groups and a wide range of church and community meetings; providing refreshments after services, Baptisms and Funerals.
How?
We have detailed designs that are deliberately sympathetic with the character and outstanding quality of this historic building.
- We have secured council planning permission.
- We are fortunate that close to half the projected cost has been covered by the sale of the old hall.
- Combined with the foundation pledges received to date we now need to raise the balance of £150.000
- A number of fund raising events will be held over the coming months, aiming to start building as early as Spring 2012.
Our flagship fund raising initiative will be ‘Sponsor a Stone’.
Not only will the church be a permanent reminder of the strength of commitment and generous spirit of our Parish, but all those who participate in our "Sponsor a Stone" initiative will have their name permanently recorded in our Donors' Book displayed in St Mary's.
